🏝️ Announcing our Kickstarter Campaign!

The Episode 6 trailer for Reality Resort just dropped — and with it, we're thrilled (and a little nervous) to announce:

Our Kickstarter campaign goes live Tuesday, May 20 at 12pm EST, and runs for 30 days until Thursday, June 19 at 12pm EST.

This isn’t just about funding a few more episodes — it’s about keeping the show alive, growing our vision, and letting Reality Resort reach its full potential.

🎯 Why We’re Launching a Kickstarter

We’ve hit a turning point in the life of this project. We're incredibly proud of how far Reality Resort has come, but like many indie creators, we're up against some serious realities 🥁 — from rising costs to changing algorithms. Animation is expensive and we don't say that lightly. Every single episode goes through:

  • Scripting (proofreading, revisions, annotations)

  • Voice acting (multiple takes)

  • Storyboarding (layouts, thumbnails, rough passes, clean passes)

  • Asset creation (backgrounds, props, outfits, character rigs)

  • Animation (including layout)

  • Post-production (editing, sound effects, music)

It’s a massive undertaking, and right now, we’re at a place where we can’t continue producing full-length episodes at the quality you’ve come to expect without outside support.

We’ve been bootstrapping from day one, relying on AdSense, Patreon, and our team’s own time and energy. But between YouTube's shifting algorithm (which is why you've seen us change our thumbnails, bonus content, and channel layout) and rising production costs, we’ve reached a point where the show can’t sustain itself.

That’s why we’re turning to Kickstarter. Not because we want to, but because we believe this project—and the incredible community behind it—is worth fighting for.

🎬 Funding Goals

Our initial goal is to raise $30,000, which will allow us to produce Episodes 7-10. That means maintaining momentum, keeping the character’s stories going, and buying us time to expand our marketing efforts and grow other revenue streams. We’re also excited to unveil our stretch goals, each unlocking more content:

  • $80,000 – Episodes 7–14

    (You’ll get to see our planned musical and mystery themed episodes)

  • $135,000 – Episodes 7–18 + Jury Roundtable
    (The Jury Roundtable will be a 10-15 minute bonus video where the jurors debate the finalists’ games)

  • $160,000 – Episodes 1+2 Remastered

    (Not a crucial goal, but we’d love to enhance the first two episodes to bring them up to our current quality)

If we hit these goals, we’ll also be better equipped to bring back fan-favorite extras like Live Feed clips and even offer animated Tourist Talks (shoutouts from your favorite characters).

💔 What Happens If We Don’t Fund

If we don’t reach our base goal, we can’t guarantee future episodes. It’s that simple, and that hard to say. We don’t want to cut corners, shorten the season, or compromise our storytelling. We’ve planned for 18 episodes and we’re committed to finishing the season the right way. This campaign is our chance to do that, with your help.

We totally understand that $30k is a big ask. If you're not in a place to support financially, that's completely okay. You can still make a huge difference by:
